FTC Tip #1: Don’t respond to calls, texts, or emails about money from the government. Government agencies like the IRS won’t try to reach you on your social media accounts, or call, text, or email you about your Economic Impact Payment. They also won’t ask for things like your Social Security, bank account, or credit card number.
