This video provides instructions on how to upload additional files to a correspondence request within the IRS Congressional Portal.
From the IRS Congressional Portal homepage, select the “All Requests” tab, and then the “Correspondence Request” sub tab. You will see a list of your IRS correspondence requests that you have submitted. Select the Congressional Request name for the request that needs an additional file within the request record.
Select the “Files” sub tab to see the current list of files associated with the request. Select the “Upload Files” button to begin attaching an additional file. Indicate if the new file being uploaded is a privacy release. Recall that the acceptable file types include pdf, Word, jpeg, mp, and g files. The maximum file size for each file attached is 25 MB. If you are uploading multiple files, hold down the control and select the files prior to clicking the open button.
Once you have finished the upload process, you will find the documents you just uploaded in the “Files” sub tab within the “Correspondence Request” record.
